이번 호는 한 프로젝트가 현실이 되기 직전, 잠시 허락되는 가장 선명한 건축의 상태로서 ‘실시설계도서’를 바라봅니다. 건축가는 시공 과정에서 수많은 조율과 수정이 뒤따를 것을 알면서도, 도면 한 장 한 장에 명확한 의도와 타협 없는 의지를 새겨 넣습니다. 한국전쟁 참전용사 기념 조형물의 실시설계도서를 펼쳐 보며 그 안에 또렷하게 기록된 계약과 책임, 의도와 판단을 읽어 봅니다.

삶것의 양수인은 실시설계도서를 자각몽에 빗대며, 건축이 현실로 흡수되기 직전 가장 완전하게 자기 자신으로 존재하는 순간이라 묘사합니다. 삶것의 이아영은 이 도서가 조형물과 나란히 그 자체로 하나의 모뉴먼트가 되어, 건축가가 끝내 지켜져야 한다고 판단한 조건을 기록으로 남긴다고 말합니다. 드로잉 리서치(Drawing Research)의 권태훈은 낮에는 생업으로서의 실시설계도면을, 밤에는 의뢰인 없는 자신만의 도면을 그리는 실천을 이어가며 도면이 상상과 현실 사이의 긴장을 끌어안고 있음을 보여줍니다.

Fully aware that negotiation and revision will inevitably follow, the architect commits each sheet to a clear intent and an unyielding will. The documents shared here are the construction drawings for Monuments to the Veterans of the Korean War — where contract and responsibility, intent and judgment are laid down with the greatest precision.

Soo-in Yang of LIFETHINGS describes the construction document set as a lucid dream — the moment architecture achieves a clarity beyond what reality can sustain.
